Boakye Agyarko Secures Northern Support, Pledges Unity Ahead of 2028

By Eugene Nyarko Jnr.—
Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Boakye Agyarko, has received a major boost to his campaign following endorsements from Members of Parliament in the Northern enclave during his campaign tour of the Northern Region.
As part of his nationwide campaign activities, Hon. Agyarko engaged the Northern Regional Council of Elders and Patrons, Regional Executives, Constituency Executives and other key stakeholders of the party at Yendi and Tamale.
During the engagements, the Member of Parliament for Gushegu, Hon. Alhassan Tampuli, and the MP for Kpandai, Hon. Matthew Nyindam, speaking on behalf of their colleagues in the Northern enclave, declared their support for Hon. Agyarko’s bid to become the party’s next National Chairman.

Addressing party faithful, Hon. Agyarko underscored the need for unity, discipline, improved welfare and strategic reforms to rebuild, reunite and reposition the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
He noted that while Ghanaians would assess the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) based on its performance, the NPP must equally strengthen its internal structures and reconnect with its grassroots base to regain power.
The former Energy Minister reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the party’s 2024 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and all stakeholders to establish a united and effective campaign machinery ahead of the 2028 polls.

In a gesture of support for the party in the region, Hon. Agyarko donated 500 bags of cement and an undisclosed sum of money towards the construction of the Northern Regional Office project. He later inspected the project site.
Hon. Agyarko also expressed gratitude to the Northern Regional leadership, elders, patrons, constituency executives and grassroots members for what he described as their warm reception, support and invaluable contributions to the growth of the party.
The engagements formed part of his ongoing nationwide consultations with party stakeholders as he seeks to lead the NPP as National Chairman.
