Former Presidential Staffer Lauds VODEC Africa, Calls for Innovative Youth Empowerment

Accra — A former Presidential Staffer under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration, Mr. Charles Cromwell Nanabanyin Onuawonto Bissue, has commended the efforts of Mr. Daniel Asomani, founder of VODEC Africa, for his contribution to youth empowerment in Ghana.
Speaking in an interview with the press during the National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum (NELEF) at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Mr. Bissue said Mr. Asomani’s initiative to mobilize and inspire young people is a step in the right direction towards sustainable economic development.

“This young man called Daniel Asomani has done a wonderful job in bringing the youth together and helping them identify opportunities within our space. Today’s programme is very good for the youth, especially in this technological world where they can research, innovate, and carve a niche for themselves,” Mr. Bissue stated.
Reflecting on youth development and national service, he noted that the scheme should be more innovative and practical, serving as an internship platform that equips graduates with confidence, skills, and workplace experience rather than being treated as a “comfort zone.”
Mr. Bissue, who attended the event alongside Assin Central MP, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, emphasized that young people need role models who demonstrate the importance of entrepreneurship and self-reliance rather than dependence on government employment.
On politics, he argued that while public confidence in political parties has dwindled, strong personalities with proven leadership qualities, such as Hon. Agyapong, could spearhead a new political revolution. He maintained that the NPP’s capitalist ideology, which positions the private sector as the engine of growth, remains the best pathway to national progress.
“A nation that does not create avenues for its youth has no future,” Mr. Bissue stressed, urging stakeholders to invest in youth development for Ghana’s sustainable growth.
