Freddy Blay Backs Wontumi Amid Legal Battles, Internal Contest

Former National Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party, Freddy Blay, has declared his support for Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, during a private meeting at his residence.
Mr Blay commended the campaign team assembled by Chairman Wontumi and praised members present at the meeting for their commitment and efforts.
He expressed appreciation for the visit and described his endorsement of Chairman Wontumi as sincere, assuring him of his unwavering support throughout the campaign.

Touching on Chairman Wontumi’s ongoing court cases, Mr Blay offered prayers for strength, endurance and perseverance, while also giving him words of encouragement and counsel.
“This is the time for Chairman Wontumi. This is his moment. He is the man of the moment,” Mr Blay stated.
The two party stalwarts also discussed campaign strategies ahead of the internal party contest, with Mr Blay identifying the Greater Accra and Eastern regions as key areas requiring strategic focus.
The meeting is seen as a significant boost for Chairman Wontumi as he navigates both internal party competition and legal challenges, while seeking to consolidate support within the party.
