Mathias Alagbo Kabila declares bid for NDC Deputy National Organizer

The Volta Regional Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Cde. Mathias Alagbo Kabila, has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy National Organizer of the party.
Cde. Kabila said his decision followed months of reflection and consultations with party elders, national executives, regional and constituency leaders, organizers, branch executives, grassroots operatives and other party members across the country.
In a declaration of intent, he said his decision was not motivated by personal ambition but by a conviction that the NDC’s Organizational Wing must continue to evolve to meet the demands of a modern, dynamic and election-winning political party.
He said his experience spanning more than two decades in the NDC had equipped him with the understanding and commitment required to contribute to strengthening the party’s structures and grassroots base.
Cde. Kabila’s political journey, according to him, began with service as a Branch Youth Organizer and later as Public Relations Officer of the Tertiary Education Institution Network (TEIN) at the University of Ghana.
He subsequently served as Deputy Volta Regional Youth Organizer before serving two terms as Volta Regional Youth Organizer.
He has also served as a member of both the Regional and National Executive Committees of the party.
He said his years of service had been defined by a commitment to strengthening the party from the grassroots upward.
Communication experience
In addition to his organizational experience, Cde. Kabila said he had served in the NDC’s communication wings since 2010, using radio, television and social media to communicate the party’s ideals, positions, policies, records and achievements.

He said those experiences had reinforced his conviction that “strong structures build strong victories.”
According to him, the position of Deputy National Organizer should not be viewed merely as an administrative office but as a critical component of the operational machinery of the party.
He said the office must coordinate, inspire and innovate while ensuring that organizers at all levels were equipped, motivated and empowered to deliver.
Five-point agenda
If given the mandate, Cde. Kabila said his work would focus on five key areas.
These include building stronger and more responsive party structures across the branches, constituencies and regions; strengthening the capacity of organizational wings through continuous training and leadership development; and establishing a coordinated grassroots mobilization network.
He said the proposed mobilization network would cover regions, constituencies, branches and identifiable groups and would facilitate rapid communication, political activation, volunteer coordination and election preparedness ahead of the 2028 general election.
Cde. Kabila also pledged to promote a culture that recognized loyalty, rewarded hard work and encouraged greater commitment to the party.
He said he would champion what he described as a “rebirth of meritocracy and welfare for the grassroots” as part of efforts to reinvigorate the party’s base.
His fifth priority is to deepen unity, discipline and collaboration across all levels of the NDC’s organizational machinery.
Beyond elections
Cde. Kabila said the NDC’s objective should go beyond winning elections to building a party organization that remained active and responsive even outside election periods.
“Our task is not simply to win elections. Our task is to build an organization that remains active beyond elections, responsive to the needs of our members, connected to our communities, and prepared for every political challenge,” he said.

He said the next chapter of the NDC’s Organizational Wing should be defined by professionalism, innovation, discipline, inclusion and sustained grassroots engagement.
Cde. Kabila said he did not present himself as someone with all the answers but as a loyal servant of the party whose experience, service and commitment had prepared him for greater responsibility.
He consequently appealed to party members for their support, prayers and partnership as he embarked on his bid for the Deputy National Organizer position.
He concluded with a call for members to “organize with purpose, mobilize with discipline and win with confidence.”
