A New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman hopeful, Boakye Agyarko, has declared his intention to build a formidable and battle-ready party capable of securing victory in the 2028 general elections.
Addressing his Ashanti Regional Campaign Team and party supporters on Monday, May 4, 2026, Mr. Agyarko outlined a vision anchored on restoring the party’s core values and strengthening its grassroots base.
He emphasized the need for unity within the party, pledging to spearhead a comprehensive reconciliation process to heal divisions and reposition the NPP ahead of the 2028 campaign.
“We had a solid candidate but a weak party. My duty when I become National Chairman is to rebuild the party so Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia can lead us to victory in 2028,” he stated.

Mr. Agyarko reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Dr. Bawumia to ensure unity and electoral success for the party.
The meeting formed part of his ongoing engagements with party structures and supporters across the country as he intensifies his bid for the National Chairman position.
He was accompanied by key members of his campaign team, including Mr. F. F. Antoh, Joseph Osei Owusu, who serves as Senior Advisor, Henry Quartey, Campaign Manager, and Alex Tetteh, along with several other campaign officials.
The call for unity and grassroots mobilisation is expected to shape the internal dynamics of the NPP as it prepares for the next general elections.
