NPP Chairmanship Race: Boakye Agyarko Courts Upper East Support

Story by Eugene Nyarko Jnr.

Aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Boakye Agyarko, has intensified his nationwide stakeholder engagement tour with a meeting involving the Upper East Regional Council of Elders and Patrons, Regional Executives, Constituency Executives and other key party stakeholders in the region.

The engagement formed part of Mr. Agyarko’s campaign efforts to outline his vision for rebuilding and strengthening the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Addressing party faithful, Mr. Agyarko underscored the need for unity, discipline, improved welfare and strategic reforms to reposition the NPP for electoral victory in 2028. He noted that while Ghanaians would assess the performance of the governing NDC administration, the NPP must equally focus on strengthening its internal structures, reconnecting with its grassroots base and preparing adequately for the future.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Mahamudu Bawumia and all stakeholders of the party to build a united and effective campaign machinery ahead of the 2028 polls. According to him, the role of the National Chairman is to support and complement the party’s flagbearer in the collective effort to return the NPP to power.

Speaking on behalf of the regional party leadership, Upper East Regional Chairman, Anthony Namoo, assured Mr. Agyarko of the region’s support and commended his longstanding loyalty, commitment and service to the party.

Mr. Agyarko, in response, expressed appreciation to the regional leadership, elders, patrons, constituency executives and grassroots members for their warm reception and pledged to work towards rebuilding the party for victory in 2028.
