In a statement issued by the organization, the PPF noted that Dr. Spio-Garbrah’s distinguished record of service as a statesman, diplomat, scholar, and Pan-Africanist makes him uniquely positioned to advance the reparations agenda with renewed strategic focus and global coordination.
“The leadership of Dr. Spio-Garbrah will help ensure that Africa’s demand for reparations is pursued with clarity, moral authority, and political force,” the statement read.
The PPF reaffirmed its solidarity with President John Dramani Mahama and Dr. Spio-Garbrah in this historic mission, describing it as a vital part of Africa’s broader struggle for justice, equity, and a rebalanced world order rooted in historical truth and shared humanity.
As the African Union’s reparations initiative gains momentum, the PPF pledged to mobilize movements, political parties, unions, youth, women, and diaspora communities in support of this transformative agenda. The organization emphasized that the appointment reflects a renewed sense of confidence in Africa’s united pursuit of reparative justice and a Pan-African renaissance.
The Head of the PPF, Humphrey Quaye, congratulated Dr. Spio-Garbrah, stating, “Long live the struggle for Reparations and African Unity. Long live the Pan-African Progressive Front.” His remarks underscored the PPF’s call for unity and collective action in advancing Africa’s reparations cause.
The statement added that reparations remain a central element in Africa’s quest for justice, equity, and self-determination, and reaffirmed the PPF’s commitment to Pan-Africanism, unity, and liberation.
The organization expressed confidence that under Dr. Spio-Garbrah’s leadership, Africa’s demand for reparations will gain renewed vigor and determination, marking a new chapter in the continent’s collective pursuit of justice.
Guided by its slogan, “Mobilizing People, Emancipating Minds,” the PPF reiterated its commitment to empowering African people and promoting the values of justice, equity, and self-reliance. It called on Africans everywhere to unite in the fight for reparative justice, noting that through cooperation and shared purpose, the continent can achieve a brighter and more equitable future.
