The Palestinian people have reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to their land and national cause as they mark the 50th anniversary of Land Day on March 30, 2026.

In a statement issued to commemorate the milestone, Palestinian authorities highlighted the enduring struggles of their people, citing decades of what they describe as historical injustice, displacement, and systemic oppression. The statement underscored that Palestinians, both at home and in the diaspora, continue to face harsh conditions, including restrictions, land dispossession, and discrimination.

According to the statement, the humanitarian situation in Gaza remains dire, with widespread destruction and significant loss of life reported amid ongoing conflict. It noted that thousands of civilians, including children, have been affected, while access to humanitarian aid and reconstruction efforts continues to face challenges.

In the West Bank and East Jerusalem, concerns were also raised over increasing tensions, including incidents of settler violence, land annexation, and movement restrictions. These developments, the statement said, have contributed to worsening living conditions and heightened insecurity for Palestinian communities.

The Palestinian leadership further expressed concern over recent policy measures and legislative proposals by Israeli authorities, which they argue could deepen divisions and undermine prospects for peace. They also pointed to economic pressures, including the withholding of Palestinian funds, as part of broader challenges confronting governance and stability.

Despite these concerns, the statement reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s commitment to pursuing a peaceful resolution to the conflict. It emphasized support for a negotiated two-state solution, based on international law, that would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The anniversary of Land Day, first observed in 1976, remains a significant symbol of Palestinian resistance and identity. Palestinian officials stressed that the occasion continues to serve as a reminder of their enduring connection to their land and their pursuit of self-determination, justice, and lasting peace in the region.
