More than 400 pupils of Dabanyi D/A Basic School in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region have benefited from a major educational and health intervention by the Perfect Compassion Initiative, spearheaded by its Founder, Lady Perfect Anette Agbemabiese.

The initiative, undertaken in partnership with Leasafric Ghana PLC, included the donation of over 400 school uniforms, comprehensive health screening for pupils, assorted drinks, mosquito nets, and special gifts for teachers of the school.

Delivering her keynote address at the donation ceremony, Lady Agbemabiese said the exercise went beyond charity, describing it as a strategic investment in the future of children and the nation at large. She stressed that education remains the cornerstone of national development, but noted that many children continue to face barriers such as lack of school uniforms and undetected health challenges, which negatively affect school attendance and learning outcomes.

“When a child lacks a proper school uniform, they may feel excluded or stigmatized, and some even absent themselves from school. When health challenges go undetected, learning becomes difficult, if not impossible,” she stated.

She explained that the initiative aligns with Ghana’s national development agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly inclusive and quality education, as well as good health and well-being. According to her, a child who is healthy and free from the stigma of lacking a uniform is better positioned to learn, participate, and excel.

“These uniforms represent dignity, equality, and belonging. Every child, regardless of their family’s financial circumstances, deserves to walk into school with confidence and pride,” she emphasized.

Lady Agbemabiese also highlighted the importance of the health screenings conducted during the exercise, noting that early detection of medical issues would ensure pupils are physically and mentally prepared to reach their full potential.

She expressed profound gratitude to stakeholders who supported the project, including representatives of the Parent-Teacher Association, teachers, Leasafric Ghana PLC, Jabi Foundation, the Ghana Health Service, the Udwata Health Directorate, Ladies in Christ (LIC), and members of the Perfect Compassion Initiative team.

Reiterating that education is a shared responsibility, she called for stronger collaboration among civil society, corporate bodies, and development partners. She further announced that the Perfect Compassion Initiative remains open to partnerships with local and international charities and corporate organizations to undertake more sustainable development projects.

The event was well attended by family members, community leaders, teachers, parents, and pupils, who expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful.

Lady Agbemabiese concluded by invoking blessings for the pupils, teachers, community, stakeholders, donors, and the nation, Ghana.
