The event drew together cultural leaders, masquerade troupes, creative arts practitioners, and community members in a colourful celebration of one of the nation’s oldest and most vibrant traditions.

In his welcome address, Mr. Eric Ohene-Larbi, Acting Regional Director of the Accra CNC, underscored the importance of strengthening cultural institutions to safeguard Ghana’s heritage. He praised the establishment of the Federation, noting that its vision to unify all masquerade and fancy dress groups under a national body would help protect and promote these iconic traditions.

A lively exhibition and networking session followed, with various groups proudly showcasing their costumes and sharing their experiences.

The launch of the Federation is expected to open new avenues for youth development, creative training, cultural tourism, research, and international exchange. According to the CNC, the move marks a significant step toward revitalizing Ghana’s creative and cultural arts sector.
The Accra CNC reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Federation’s work and strengthening partnerships aimed at preserving and celebrating Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.
